1. Prepare Your Yealink IP Phone

  • Factory Reset: Before provisioning, reset the phone to its factory settings to clear any previous configurations. This can typically be done through the phone’s menu under Settings > Advanced > Reset.

2. Access the 3CX Management Console

  • Login: Enter your 3CX Management Console using your administrator credentials.

3. Add a New Extension

  • Navigate to Extensions: In the console, go to the Extensions section.
  • Create Extension: Click Add to set up a new extension. Fill in the necessary details such as the user’s name, extension number, and authentication password.

4. Assign the Yealink IP Phone to the Extension

  • Provisioning Tab: Within the extension settings, select the Phone Provisioning tab.
  • Add Phone: Click Add Phone and choose the Yealink model from the dropdown menu.
  • Enter MAC Address: Input the phone’s MAC address, which is usually found on the back of the device or via the phone’s menu under Status.

5. Provision the Phone

  • Plug and Play (PnP): Connect the phone to the same network as the 3CX server. The phone should automatically appear in the Phones section of the 3CX console. Assign it to the desired extension.
  • Manual Provisioning:
    • Access Phone’s Web Interface: Find the phone’s IP address (via the phone’s menu under Status) and enter it into a web browser.
    • Login: Use the default credentials (commonly admin for both username and password).
    • Auto Provisioning Settings: Navigate to Settings > Auto Provision.
    • Provisioning Server URL: Enter the provisioning URL provided by the 3CX Management Console.
    • Confirm and Reboot: Save the settings and reboot the phone. It will fetch the configuration from the 3CX server.

6. Verify the Configuration

  • Check Registration: After rebooting, the phone should register with the 3CX server. Verify this in the Extensions section of the 3CX console; the status should indicate Registered.
  • Test Calls: Make internal and external calls to ensure the phone operates correctly.
